Join Us in Celebrating Culture, Heritage, and Community
The Calgary Strength Through Heritage Project 2026 by HKCCSA invites community members of all ages to come together to explore and celebrate cultural traditions through engaging and hands-on experiences. This series of activities highlights the beauty of heritage while fostering connection, creativity, and shared learning within our community. This project is made possible through the generous support of the City of Calgary, whose commitment to community and cultural initiatives helps bring these meaningful experiences to life.
From traditional lacquer fan crafting and Lunar New Year calligraphy sharing to creative workshops and interactive children’s activities, each event offers an opportunity to experience cultural craftsmanship and meaningful traditions in a welcoming environment. Whether you are learning a new skill, reconnecting with cultural roots, or simply enjoying time with others, your participation helps strengthen community bonds and keep cultural heritage alive.
At HKCCSA, we believe in “Strength in Change.” Together, let us honour tradition, embrace diversity, and continue building a vibrant and supportive community through culture, learning, and connection.
Free Tax Clinic: Supporting Our Community Through Accessible Services
HKCCSA is pleased to offer a Free Tax Clinic to support community members who need assistance with filing their income taxes. As part of the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP), administered by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), trained volunteers provide free assistance to eligible low-income individuals and families to help them complete their income tax and benefit returns accurately and on time.
Services are available in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English through both virtual and in-person appointments, making tax support more accessible to community members across multiple provinces. Through this initiative, HKCCSA aims to help participants access the benefits and credits they are entitled to while reducing financial stress during tax season.
At HKCCSA, we believe in “Strength in Change.” By providing practical support and community-based services, we continue to promote inclusion, accessibility, and well-being while strengthening connections within the communities we serve.
